Principal's Message

Dear Students and Families:

Thank you for your continued support of students and learning and growth during these challenging times.  

If you are considering SLHS as a school option for your student, our hope is to welcome students who are looking for a new and different approach to school. This may include:
  • Students who have struggled or continue to struggle in their current high-school setting.
  • Students who would benefit from a smaller environment.
  • Students who could use a chance to start anew.

Please see below for important information regarding Remote Learning at SLHS in the 20-21 school year.  The rest of our website can also provide a wealth of information.  And as always, if you don't find the answer to your question, please just contact us!

  • We will be virtual for the first semester, at the least.
  • Classes are synchronous (“live”, you need to “tune in”) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9am - 12:10pm.
  • You have other opportunities and expectations including outside work, small groups, etc., in the afternoons and on Wednesdays.
  • Our class schedule is:
  • 1st period 9:00-9:50
  •  2nd period 10:00-10:15 (Family)
  •  3rd period 10:20-11:10
  • 4th period 11:20-12:10
  • Student Schedule
  • Attendance is taken.
  • SSR is available as an independent study elective. Ask your Family teacher or the librarian for details.
  • All classes are accessible through Canvas.
  • CHECK EMAIL AT LEAST TWICE DAILY.  This is the only way to make sure you have all the information you need.
  • Chromebooks: students transferring into SLHS or who need a Chromebook need to click this link to schedule an appointment for pickup, or call 425-431-1211 or email techsupport@edmonds15.org to arrange an appointment for pickup at the district office.
  • There are no ORCA passes being distributed while we are fully remote.

Here are several informational items and forms that may be useful for you as we move into the new year.

  • Since we are entirely online, your access to Skyward/Family Access is crucial.  Click here to get the information on how to set up your own account, and even get an app to monitor grades and attendance from your smartphone.*
  • Here is the Food & Nutrition Services site, where you can access the very important free/reduced lunch meals application.*  Please be sure to fill it out, because you may qualify for other services, too. You can drop the completed form off in our DropBox at the end of the breezeway, or you can mail it directly to Food Services using the address on the form, or you can scan and email it back to SLH interim office manager Sarah Humphrey at HumphreyS390@edmonds.wednet.edu
  • Clothes for Kids is up and running.  You can learn more on the attached form.
  • Visit our Staff Directory for other staff contacts.
  • Our Family Support website is useful for accessing tech support, meal support, and other resources.*
  • The district will also be using Canvas as our Learning Management System (LMS).  Students already have account access - just go to edmonds15.instructure.com from your district-issued Chromebook.  Parents can also have access to their students’ Canvas information.  Visit this site to set up your access.
  • One final piece of the communication puzzle will be that we are using Remind as a tool this year.  Stay tuned for information on how to set up those accounts as well.
