Student Transition education Program (STEP)

Student Transition Education Program.

STEP is intended for students who are in need of transitioning toward the most appropriate educational placement where they believe they can succeed. As part of the STEP process, the student and the STEP teacher will review graduation requirements, determine if there are attendance matters to address, and discuss past challenges the student has encountered in the school setting. A schedule reflecting the student’s needs will be developed through collaborative efforts between the student, family, the STEP teacher, counselors and administration. The goal of STEP is to focus on making positive decisions toward moving forward.

Enrollment is through a referral process initiated from the student’s home high school. A student must also interview with the principal, Andrea Hillman, before being formally accepted. If accepted, a start date will be determined, and the process of determining and choosing an appropriate schedule will follow. Please contact the school at (425) 431-7271 to request information about STEP.
